Preschool Education
Preschool education is the provision of education for children .before the commencement of statutory education, usually between the ages of three and five, dependent on the jurisdiction. Preschool is also known as nursery school, day care or kindergarten.
Preschool is the best place for the kids to gain the basic lessons of life. The current philosophy of early childhood education focuses mainly on the importance of play in a child's educational experience. Play is important because it allows children to interact with and explore the environment around them as well as others in that environment. It also encourages children to use their fledgling imaginations to create and discover new things about themselves and the world around them. Finally, play challenges children to take risks that will help add to their understanding of their world.
When teaching preschool, it is important to have a series of hands-on activities for the children to engage in play, both alone and as a part of the group. Preschool is one of the greatest opportunities for children to develop social skills by interacting with their peers. Developmentally speaking, children also learn about their own identity as well as their place within the social environment of school. When teaching preschool, it is important to have clear, concise preschool lesson plans that span a wide variety of topics such as math, reading, social studies, art and physical .
Nursery Rhymes
The term nursery rhyme is used for traditional songs for young children in Britain and many English speaking countries, but usage only dates from the nineteenth century and in North America the older Mother Goose Rhymes is still often used.
There have been several attempts, across the world, to revise nursery rhymes (along with fairy tales and popular songs). Children of all ages enjoy listening to and being involved in rhymes. Nursery rhymes are an invaluable resource and provide an ideal starting point for cross- circular activities like phonics, numbers, shapes, vocabulary and general knowledge.
They can also be used to develop children's thinking and understanding by stimulating their imagination and firing their enthusiasm. You all will be happy to read that when important cross-curricular activities are taught through something as interesting as nursery rhymes, learning becomes fun and remains so, for life.
Children have been hearing nursery rhymes since their toddler years and when these very same loveable rhyme characters are used to teach them other concepts, it makes the learning experience more varied and it also has long term impact.
